What is halitosis?

The halitosis is the term used to define bad breath.

"Halitus" from Latin, means bad breath.
"Osis, from the Greek, means illness or disorder.

Bad breath affects millions of people throughout the world. Women and men are affected in equal proportions. All age groups are affected. This is not only a current problem and can be considered an adult on two will be affected by halitosis at least once in their life.

Bad breath went through centuries of history. We already talk of halitosis among Greeks and Romans.

The situation has now greatly improved since the beginning of the century. Today all that has changed. In the USA, a study shows that Americans annually spend a billion dollars in toothpaste, candy mint, mouthwash and sprays to freshen breath.

It is very difficult to feel his own breath because the smell has a great capacity for adaptation.
